The (missing) features of Appget 2.0

August 19th 2009, 22:33

Since Appget 2.0 is built from the scratch, some old features are not working yet.

Right now, Appget 2.0 can only be used to compare your installed application list on different systems.
It's not yet possible to determine if you have the latest version of a certain application. That feature will become available in the next version.

Please let me know if you have any feature requests.

Hi,

I had an idea for a feature that might be extremely useful: integration of AppGet with inventory management systems such as Open-Audit or OCS Inventory.

These inventory management systems already collect the version information for all the installed software for a whole network, but don't tell you if there might be a newer version available - and that's where Appget would come in.
